Today we are going to talk about the most important rules which I follow to increasing my productivity at work & in personal life.
Time blocking is a time management method that asks you to divide your day into blocks of time. Each block is dedicated to accomplishing a specific task, or group of tasks, and only those specific tasks. … With days that are time blocked in advance, you won’t have to constantly make choices about what to focus on.
Since the very first day at work blocking my time for different things at different times & days became very necessary. Being a COO keeping on tabs on so many different projects & pitches becomes a cumbersome & difficult task.
HOW TO DO IT ?
As soon as something new topic or a new idea or regular to do comes in, we create a Gmail Calendar Event for the future on the day we feel the most comfortable doing it or most possible time to get that checked out & done.
On that very moment of the event, an email is directed to my address and we focus to get that done in that duration. If by chance we are already caught up with something else during that hour, we reset the event for the next date. Hence, all things have to be checked off – whether done or not.
Using Gmail Calender for Time Blocking was the most cost friendly and most easy thing to do. All you have to do is you have to have a Gmail ID and then Calendars are a free application with it.
I currently have 993 Repeating or Singular Events annually. I know these many email reminders can make any one go bonkers but these emails ensure every small things get executed or delegated.
The Repeat Event Option of Gmail Calender is one of my favourite tools till now.
